Battlelog

The free web-based social platform and game launcher built for the Battlefield community

Battlelog is a free, feature-rich companion platform developed by ESN (later renamed Uprise) for Electronic Arts and DICE. It transforms how Battlefield players connect, compete, and communicate — replacing traditional in-game menus with a powerful online hub that brings stats, servers, friends, and loadouts together in one place.

Core Features

Everything you need to master Battlefield, all in one free platform

Real-Time Stats Tracking

Monitor your soldier's complete progression with detailed charts, weapon performance data, accuracy ratings, kill-death ratios, win rates, and historical match data — all updated in real time after every game session.

Social Network & Friends

Connect with your squad through Battlelog's integrated social system. View your Battlefeed to see what friends are playing, send messages, follow their stats, and jump straight into their game server with a single click.

Server Browser

Find the perfect multiplayer game with Battlelog's advanced server browser. Filter servers by map, game mode, player count, ping, region, and custom rule sets. Bookmark your favourite servers and join friends already in a match instantly.

Platoons System

Organise your community with Battlelog's full-featured Platoons — Battlelog's equivalent of clans and guilds. Create a platoon with a custom name, tag, and emblem. Manage membership ranks, promote officers, and track collective platoon statistics and leaderboard standings.

Battle Reports

Analyse every match with comprehensive Battle Reports generated after each game. Review scores, medals, ribbons, and individual weapon performance. Compare your results against teammates and opponents, and share reports with your platoon or friends to review key moments.

Mobile App

Stay connected to Battlelog on the go with the dedicated mobile application for iOS and Android. Access your soldier stats, manage friend requests, monitor your platoon, check server status, and receive notifications — all from your phone or tablet, anytime, anywhere.

Weapon & Loadout Customisation

Fully customise your soldier's loadout directly from Battlelog without ever launching the game. Equip attachments, swap gadgets, choose specialisations, and configure vehicle unlocks. Changes sync to your game in real time, so your loadout is ready the moment you drop into battle.

Geo Leaderboards & Missions

Compete on global and regional Geo Leaderboards to see where you rank among players in your country, continent, and worldwide. Take on Missions — custom challenges created by EA, DICE, or fellow players — to earn exclusive dog tags and prove your skills in specific combat scenarios.

About Battlelog

Battlelog was developed by ESN, a Swedish development studio later renamed Uprise, under contract for Electronic Arts and DICE. It launched alongside Battlefield 3 in October 2011, introducing a novel approach to game management: instead of a traditional in-game main menu, the entire game lobby, server browser, and social infrastructure moved to a web browser, with a browser plugin enabling direct game launching from the Battlelog website.

The platform represented a significant shift in how PC gaming communities were organised. Battlelog integrated deep statistics, persistent progression tracking, and social networking features that were rarely seen at this level of sophistication in a free companion platform. Players could view comprehensive profiles, analyse their performance across hundreds of weapons and vehicles, and engage with a global community — all outside of the game client itself.

With the release of Battlefield 4 in 2013, Battlelog 2.0 arrived with a redesigned interface, expanded feature set, and support for Missions — community-driven challenges that offered exclusive rewards. Platoons received significant enhancements with better admin tools, emblem customisation, and collective stats pages.

Battlelog also served as the primary news outlet for the Battlefield franchise from October 2014, replacing the Battlefield Blog as the central hub for official announcements, patch notes, and developer posts.

Battlelog's forum functionality was discontinued in April 2021, with threads redirected to EA's Answers platform. While newer Battlefield titles — Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, and Battlefield 2042 — returned to in-game menus, Battlelog remains an important chapter in online gaming history as a pioneering free platform that united players, data, and community in a single persistent web experience.
